 Mathematical Analysis for Engineers 1 & 2 , M. Krasnov; A. Kiselev; G. Makarenko; E. Shikin , MIR Publishers Moscow 1990
This rigorous but lucid textbook contains just enough mathematical facts to cope with a wide variety of engineering disciplines. It covers analytic geometry and linear algebra, differential and integral calculus for functions of one and more variables, vector analysis, numerical and functional series, ordinary differential equations, functions of a complex variable, Laplace and Fourier transforms, and equations of mathematical physics.

The course is not overloaded with scrupulous proofs for theorems which have little practical application. The proofs chosen are constructive in nature and explaining the fundamental ideas that had been introduced, showing how they work. This ap- proach makes it possible to devise algorithms for solving whole classes of important problems. The authors concentrate on the presentation of the basic ideas of linear algebra and analysis to make it detailed and as comprehensible as possible. More than 600
diagrams are meant for this purpose, as well as the numerous examples and carefully selected problems and exercises (around 1000) chosen to help students with the mechanics of solving typical problems.

The book should be found useful by students of technical colleges, engineers and those pursuing an independent mathematics course.
